Saudi Aramco announced on 17 November that its Korean subsidiary S-Oil is to develop a $7bn 1.8mn t/y mixed feed cracker and integrated 1.32mn t/y polyethylene production facility. The development is a major step forward for Aramco’s aims to quadruple its liquids-to-chemicals conversion by 2030 in a bid to future-proof its core oil sector.
The announcement came during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Seoul. The crown prince arrived in South Korea on 16 November after attending the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia. (CONTINUED - 777 WORDS)
