A 2mn t/y ethane cracker at Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial city is due online in 2026, QatarEnergy stated on 8 June. The project is being developed by QatarEnergy (70%) and Chevron Phillips (30%), after the latter was awarded a stake in June 2019 (MEES, 28 June 2019). The partners are also developing a 2mn t/y cracker in the US, with FID potentially taking place in 2023.
QatarEnergy says that Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) has been awarded the early site works contract for the Ras Laffan Petrochemical Project (RLPP), “marking the commencement of execution of the RLPP.” (CONTINUED - 382 WORDS)
