US major ExxonMobil, fresh from drilling an appraisal well at the 2019 Glaucus discovery on Cyprus’ Block 10, has started shooting seismic on the adjacent Block 5 just eight months after being awarded the acreage (MEES, 3 December 2021).
A source with direct knowledge of the matter tells MEES that should this ongoing seismic turn up a drill-worthy prospect then both this and a second appraisal well at adjoining Block 10’s Glaucus field would be drilled in late 2023 or early 2024. (CONTINUED - 860 WORDS)
