TotalEnergies announced on 27 July that it is to partner Veolia in building 17MW of solar PV capacity at Oman’s Veolia-operated 80,000 m3/d Sharqiyah desalination plant at Sur south of Muscat.
The planned 32,000 solar panels covering 130,000m2 will supply 30,000MWh annually, the equivalent of “more than a third of the desalination plant’s consumption,” with the project “the first of its kind to be installed in the region,” Total says. (CONTINUED - 111 WORDS)
