Israel and Turkey agreed on 17 August to fully restore diplomatic ties, returning to a full normalization of relations.
“Renewing relations with Turkey is an important asset for regional stability and important economic news for the citizens of Israel,” Israel’s Prime Minister Yair Lapid said. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s comment chose to focus on the key bone of contention between the two countries, the Palestinian issue.
