Speaking on his firm’s 1H results on 8 September Mathios Rigas, CEO of London and Tel Aviv-listed independent Energean, says that the 2.6tcf Karish project “is on track to start production within weeks,” a timeline reiterated this week by Israeli officials, albeit after some seriously mixed messages (MEES, 16 September).
“The week of the 20th of September” – that is to say next week – is “the target date… to introduce gas to the system… All the wells are hooked up. We are in the final stages of commissioning.
