Adnoc has shipped the “first of several test cargoes” of low-carbon ammonia to Germany as the Abu Dhabi state energy firm seeks to solidify supply chains for emerging low-carbon fuels. The cargo was produced by Adnoc’s Fertiglobe JV with Egypt’s OCI at its Fertil plant in Abu Dhabi’s Ruwais industrial complex.
The ammonia will be delivered to Aurubis in Hamburg “as a feedstock in its wire rod plant, testing its application as an additional, lower-carbon energy source for industrial ulilization. The hydrogen it contains has the potential to be a low-carbon energy alternative for the energy-intensive processes in multi-metal production.” (CONTINUED - 427 WORDS)
