Oman announced on 18 January that first gas has been achieved from the Mabrouk North East field on Block 10. The project is slated to reach 500mn cfd by mid-2024, pointing to a long ramp-up from modest initial volumes.
Block 10 is being developed by Shell (53.45%op) and Omani state firm OQ (13.36%) with the Marsa LNG JV (TotalEnergies 80%, OQ 20%) holding the remaining 33.19%. Development is being conducted under a December 2021 agreement, which followed a February 2019 “interim upstream agreement” (MEES, 24 December 2021). (CONTINUED - 519 WORDS)
