Energean, in a 19 January operations update, says that since coming online on 26 October 2022 the 1.4tcf Karish main field has seen “excellent reservoir deliverability” with “all three wells opened before year end.” “Data collected from the wells has demonstrated the reservoir’s ability to produce in line with expectations,” the firm adds.
Though output to date has been hit by “a range of typical above-ground commissioning issues” the firm says it has “successfully identified and implemented solutions.” Energean’s Israel (ie Karish) production came in at just 0.28bcm for 2022, well down on not only the 1bcm forecast given alongside its 1H results in September (MEES, 16 September), but also its most recent 17 November update of 0.5bcm.
