The continued shutdown of Israel’s 13tcf Tamar gas field has seen Israel-Egypt gas flows dwindle to around 150-200mn cfd, MEES sources indicate.
This equates to around 20% of the 870mn cfd average for the first eight months of 2023, and less than a third of the implied average volumes of 650mn cfd in contracts for Israel’s key Leviathan and Tamar fields to supply Egyptian state-backed buyer Blue Ocean Energy (MEES, 4 October 2019).
