Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) CEO Sheikh Nawaf Al Sabah is positive on the outlook for development of the Dorra gas field situated in the Partitioned Neutral Zone (PNZ). Speaking at the Energy Intelligence Forum in London on 19 October, he said that Kuwait and its Saudi partners are currently working on front-end engineering and design (FEED), with work expected to be completed next year. “We will then ultimately move into FID on the facilities that we need to build,” he stated.
Nixing Iranian claims that Dorra extends into its waters, Sheikh Nawaf stated “It’s jointly owned by Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we will produce it together. We are now, after agreeing with our brothers in the kingdom on how to produce it, we expect production of about 1bn cfd of gas, which will be split equally between the two partners.” The partners are targeting completion of the project by 2029 (MEES, 13 October).
