Tankers traversing the Suez Canal will have to pay more from 15 January 2024, with the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) announcing a 15% hike in transit fees. The hike will affect crude oil and petroleum tankers, LNG and LPG carriers, chemical and other liquid bulk tankers, and containerships, among others.
A 5% transit fee hike will also apply for dry bulk vessels, general cargo ships, and roll-on/roll-off ships, the statement added. (CONTINUED - 222 WORDS)
