Kuwaiti PM Sheikh Ahmad Al Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah survived a ‘grilling’ by MP Muhalhal al-Mudhaf on 28 November. The Prime Minister was first appointed in July 2022, but is already on to his fourth cabinet amid tumultuous relations with parliament (Majlis al-Umma). His third cabinet lasted a mere two months and was abruptly dissolved in preparation for last year’s elections (MEES, 21 April).
The PM, who is Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah’s eldest son, has already seen three members of his current government resign in recent months, either over intra-governmental disagreements (MEES, 28 July) or under the pressure of ‘parliamentary grillings’ by MPs. (CONTINUED - 937 WORDS)
