TotalEren, the renewables subsidiary of TotalEnergies, and UK-based Chariot have firmed up their plans for green hydrogen in Mauritania. On 5 December, together with representatives of the Mauritanian government and state iron ore miner SNIM they signed “an MoU for the country’s first green hydrogen pilot project” at the Mauritania stand at Cop28.
“The project will focus on SNIM’s iron ore train transport in Mauritania,” Chariot says. SNIM’s mines in the northeast of the country are linked to the port of Nouadhibou by a 700km railway. (CONTINUED - 363 WORDS)
