This means that whilst Australia was slightly ahead of Qatar as the top LNG exporter for 2022, with 80.6mn tons versus 80.2mn tons (see chart 1), in terms of imports by consuming countries, the longer average voyage time for Australian shipments means that Qatar was ahead, albeit fractionally, with 79.6mn tons versus 79.4mn tons, the Kpler data show.
