Iraq’s state-owned Missan Oil Company (MOC) is expecting to bring online a long-delayed $1.07bn, 300mn cfd gas processing project at the 400,000 b/d capacity Halfaya oil field by the end of this year (MEES, 15 July 2022). The field is operated by Chinese state oil giant CNPC, and its engineering arm CPECC is delivering the new facility.
Current progress at the project, also known as the Gas Processing Project (GPP), is estimated at 75%. Some GPP gas will fuel the 840MW Missan greenfield CCGT power plant inaugurated last year (MEES, 8 July 2022), whilst parallel works to connect through a pipeline to Basra are also underway. MOC is also working on expanding its loading facilities for LPG trucks to 2,000-2,500 t/d. (CONTINUED - 153 WORDS)
