Italian firm Eni’s 21.5tcf Zohr is Egypt’s key gas producer, contributing close to 40% of the country’s overall gas output of 6.54bn cfd. But output continues to slide due to water breakthrough issues.
By early April output had fallen to 2.1bn cfd with losses of close to 30mn cfd per week since the start of the year. Whilst output has since stabilized at 2.3bn cfd, the recent fluctuations have led Eni to expedite further drilling at the field. (CONTINUED - 749 WORDS)
