US oil firm HKN announced on 12 May that it has partially resumed production from its Sarsang license (HKN 62%op, Shamaran 18%, KRG 20%) in Iraqi Kurdistan, despite the continued closure of the export pipeline to Ceyhan. “HKN temporarily halted production from all facilities on April 19, once we filled onsite and offsite storage… We restarted some production shortly thereafter and began selling to local refineries on April 25,” the firm stated.
Since the resumption of production, output has averaged 22,000 b/d according to HKN, which says it expects production to average between 25,000 and 50,000 b/d until pipeline exports resume. (CONTINUED - 150 WORDS)
