Cairo and Ankara have begun the process of exchanging ambassadors and moving to fully normalize diplomatic ties following Turkey’s re-election on 28 May of Recep Tayyip Erdogan as President. The matters were discussed during a congratulatory phone call following the election result announcement between Mr Erdogan and his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
