US major Chevron (35%), operator of Cyprus’ 4.5tcf Aphrodite offshore gas field, submitted an updated field development plan (FDP) to Nicosia this week, as senior executives arrived on the island ahead of a workshop aimed at outlining Nicosia’s new gas strategy. The workshop was attended by officials from a range of firms operating offshore Cyprus and the East Mediterranean.
On 31 May, Israeli firm NewMed Energy (30%), confirmed that the partners, which also include UK major Shell (35%), submitted the updated plan which envisages tie-back “to an existing processing and production facility in Egypt.” (CONTINUED - 1887 WORDS)
