Saudi Aramco and TotalEnergies announced on 24 June that they have awarded key EPC contracts for their Amiral petrochemicals complex at the Jubail industrial complex. The $11bn Amiral complex is to be integrated into their 460,000 b/d Satorp refinery (Aramco 62.5%, TotalEnergies 37.5%), and the partners took FID on the project in December (MEES, 16 December 2022). Commercial operations are due to begin in 2027.
The two firms emphasized their cooperation during the signing ceremony in Dhahran. Aramco CEO Amin Nasser says “we are taking a major step forward in further strengthening the partnership between TotalEnergies and Aramco, with the Satorp expansion project being the latest in a longstanding history of collaboration of almost five decades between both companies.” (CONTINUED - 778 WORDS)
