Oman’s electricity production hit a record 41.8TWh for 2022 up 1% on 2021’s 41.41TWh according to freshly-published official stats. Natural gas accounted for 92% of total power generation, some 38.5TWh or 7.77bcm of gas as output hit a record 49.5bcm (MEES, 7 July).
Whilst Oman’s 2022 powergen gas burn was up fractionally on 2021’s 7.72bcm it is well below 2015’s record 8.34bcm, indicating improved efficiency of Oman’s generation fleet. (CONTINUED - 217 WORDS)
