Basrah Gas Company (BGC: Iraqi state-owned South Gas Company 51%, Shell 44%, Mitsubishi 5%) is going through the “full commissioning phase” of its new 200mn cfd gas processing train as part of the $1bn 400mn cfd BNGL expansion project. MEES understands that the new train has now been connected to permanent power supply facilities and that it will reach full processing capacity by late October.
This follows initial testing in June (MEES, 30 June). Meanwhile, BGC aims to bring the second 200mn cfd train online in early 2024. Even with a lengthy commissioning process this ought to mean full BNGL capacity in time for summer 2024. (CONTINUED - 100 WORDS)
