Qatari private-sector firm Power International Holding (PIH) has proposed building a petchems complex to produce butene and polybutene in Algeria in partnership with Sonatrach, according to the Algerian energy ministry.
The 18 August ministry write-up of a meeting the previous day between minister Mohamed Arkab and Qatari ambassador to Algiers Abdulaziz Ali al-Naama says that a team from the Qatari company is set to visit Algeria in the first week of September with the aim of fleshing out the plans.
