Exports from the Khafji offshore field in the Partitioned Neutral Zone (PNZ) have been halted for much of August following a fire on 10 August. The PNZ is managed 50:50 by Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, with the offshore sector operated by Khafji Joint Operations (KJO), a joint venture of Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) and Aramco Gulf Operations Company (AGOC).
KJO says that a “limited fire” took place on 10 August at the “desalter heaters area,” adding that there were no injuries, deaths, or release of toxic gases in the premises. These are located at the onshore Ras al-Khafji facilities which process piped crude oil from the offshore Khafji field for onwards export. (CONTINUED - 259 WORDS)
