Kuwait’s electricity grid is reeling from scorching temperatures with multiple areas suffering blackouts in late August as residents crank up the aircon.
Peak demand hit a new all-time record of 16.37GW in July according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW), while local daily Al-Jarida reports that this has since been beaten with demand surging to 16.59GW on 24 August (see chart 1). (CONTINUED - 737 WORDS)
