India imported just 1.66mn b/d of crude from Middle East countries for July 2023, the lowest figure in more than 12 years of comprehensive MEES data.
This comes as the latest official Indian data for July show yet another month of bumper Russian volumes. Though July’s imports of 1.59mn b/d from Russia marked the lowest figure since January, and more than 500,000 b/d down on May’s record 2.10mn b/d, the first seven months of this year have been the seven highest on record.
