Iraq state-owned South Gas Company has signed a final contract with local firm Halfaya Gas Company to build gas capture facilities at the 34,000 b/d-capacity Nahr Bin Umar oilfield in Basra.
In a 7 January press release, Oil Minister Hayan Abdulghani says Halfaya Gas, which is a subsidiary of local firm Raban Al-Safina for Energy Projects (Rasep), will capture, process and compress some 150mn cfd of currently flared associated gas as a first phase with a similarly sized second phase to follow depending on “gas availability.” (CONTINUED - 196 WORDS)
