Egypt’s North Abu Qir for Agricultural Nutrients on 2 January signed an MoU to source green ammonia feedstock for its planned 2,400 t/day (875,000 t/y) ammonium nitrate fertilizer plant.
The company was set up in May and groups Egypt’s current leading ammonia fertilizers producer Abu Qir (45%) with state oil firm EGPC (45%) and state petchems firm Echem (10%). The new plant would be built on EGPC-owned land adjoining Abu Qir’s existing facilities west of Alexandria on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast. (CONTINUED - 646 WORDS)
