Abu Dhabi state offtaker Ewec has invited firms to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the development of the 140MW Al Sila wind farm in western Abu Dhabi near the border with Saudi Arabia. The deadline for submissions is 5 November. Al Sila will bring installed wind capacity up to 240MW alongside the operational 103MW Masdar Wind Program which is spread across four separate locations.
2024 is shaping up to be a busy one for Ewec, which earlier this month invited EOIs for the 1.5GW Zarraf solar PV plant (MEES, 4 October). This followed the July issuances of Request for Proposals for a 2.5GW gas-fired CCGT plant at Taweelah and a 1.5GW gas-fired OCGT plant at Madinat Zayed (MEES, 2 August). (CONTINUED - 118 WORDS)
