The Sharjah National Oil Company (SNOC) is optimistic about the prospects for its recent discovery, the Hedebah field, located around 10km north east of its Sajaa gas processing plant. SNOC announced the discovery in May (MEES, 10 May), and this week Upstream Director Masoud al-Hamadi announced that “the well has been completed and tested successfully and commercially, with gas and condensate from the Thamama reservoir.” SNOC expects the field will begin producing in time for summer 2025, says CEO Hatem al-Mosa. No reserve estimates have been provided.
There are three currently operating gas fields in Sharjah; Sajaa, Kahaif and Mahani, with the latter discovered by Eni in 2020. Mr Hamadi says the Hedebah-01 well will be tied in to the Sajaa plant, while additional wells are drilled at Hedebah to delineate the structure. (CONTINUED - 130 WORDS)
