UAE firm Dana Gas on 8 February said that a 250mn cfd expansion project which is to bring capacity at Iraqi Kurdistan’s Khor Mor gas field to 750mn cfd has been pushed back to the second half of the year. The firm, alongside its Pearl Consortium partners (Dana Gas 35%, Crescent Petroleum 35%, OMV 10%, Mol 10%, RWE 10%), resumed work on the ‘KM250’ project last May following rocket attacks, aiming then for first gas in April 2024 (MEES, 19 May 2023).
Khor Mor is the largest producing non-associated gas field in Iraq and provides crucial gas feedstock to Kurdistan’s power plants, but the field has been attacked multiple times in recent years by Iran-backed militias.
