US firm Air Products is a key partner in the development of Saudi Arabia’s pioneering $8.4bn green ammonia plant at Neom. Once fully operational the Neom Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), an equal partnership of Acwa Power, US firm Air Products and the Neom subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s PIF sovereign wealth fund, will produce 1.2mn t/y of green ammonia from 237,000 t/y of green hydrogen. The project entails development of 4GW of wind and solar capacity.
Air Products CEO Seifi Ghasemi said during his firm’s 5 February earnings call that the plant is expected to start up on 31 December 2026. Financial close on the project was reached in May last year (MEES, 9 June 2023). (CONTINUED - 849 WORDS)
