Israel added 1.108GW of installed renewables capacity during 2023 to end the year up 23% at 5.903GW according to figures from the country’s Public Utility Authority (PUA).
Israel is now comfortably ahead of neighbors Egypt (3.2GW) and Jordan (2.6GW) and level with the UAE on 5.9GW (MEES, 23 February) as the Mena regional leader in terms of ‘new renewables’ capacity (solar plus wind, excluding hydropower for which Iran is top). (CONTINUED - 1424 WORDS)
