Abu Dhabi state offtaker Ewec has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to qualified firms for its planned 1.5GW Khazna solar PV plant. Khazna is the next phase in Ewec’s renewables rollout, which will take Abu Dhabi’s installed solar capacity to 6.3GW by 2027.
Ewec earlier qualified 19 companies and consortia for the RFP stage, out of a total of 27 which had expressed interest (MEES, 29 September 2023). The eventual developer will own up to 40% in the project and enter into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Ewec. (CONTINUED - 312 WORDS)
