Nicosia over the coming days will examine a proposal filed on 28 March by US major Chevron (35%), operator of the 3.5tcf Aphrodite field as it considers whether to accept potential revised development options (MEES, 29 March). MEES understands both options crucially include the use of a floating production unit (FPU) which Nicosia has been insistent on, tying back the gas to Egypt.
