US major Chevron’s plans to drill two wells offshore Egypt by end-2024 could be impacted by a lack of rig availability, MEES learns.
While Chevron is confident that at least one of the two wells – an initial wildcat on the North El Dabaa block in Egypt’s virgin ‘West Med’ region – will still be drilled in 2024, both this and an appraisal well on 2023’s Nargis discovery north of Sinai could be pushed back to 2025.
