Israel sent a record 1.025bn cfd of gas to Egypt for Q1 and 252mn to Jordan, with combined volumes of 1.277bn cfd a new all-time export high, latest company filings show. Overall exports were up 30% quarter on quarter, rebounding from 4Q 2023’s conflict related dip following the one month shut down of the 14tcf Tamar gas field in October on security concerns (MEES, 13 October 2023).
The majority of Israel’s exports came from the larger 23tcf Leviathan, with volumes increasing by 22% to 939mn cfd. This was the second highest quarterly figure for Leviathan behind 3Q 2023’s 967mn cfd. Exports from the 14tcf Tamar meanwhile hit a record 338mn cfd from Tamar, rebounding following its temporary shutdown in late 2023. (CONTINUED - 1362 WORDS)
