The long-running saga of Cyprus’ LNG import terminal has recently taken a new twist with the Chinese-Greek consortium led by CPPE (China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering) – subsidiary of Chinese state giant CNPC - going public with its complaints regarding the project’s continuous delays.
Contracts for constructing the terminal were awarded in 2019 (MEES, 30 August 2019), with the project initially due to start-up in October 2022, but having suffered numerous delays, the current impasse raises serious questions over whether it will ever be completed. (CONTINUED - 955 WORDS)
