US major Chevron has moved a step closer to long-mooted entry to the Algerian upstream. On 13 June, it signed a Heads of Agreement with Sonatrach which “constitutes a platform of discussion dealing with the development opportunities of hydrocarbon resources in identified interest areas in the basins of Ahnet and Berkine.”
Chevron says this builds on its 2020 MoU with Sonatrach “to evaluate prospective hydrocarbon plays in the country” (MEES, 20 March 2020). (CONTINUED - 1016 WORDS)
