Oman national offtaker Nama PWP on 26 June prequalified nine firms after launching a tender in January to develop the $403mn 500MW Ibri III Solar IPP (see table). Nama PWP says it is now working on sending formal Requests for Proposals to the selected firms. The scheduled commercial operation date for the project is 4Q 2026.
Muscat is advancing plans to boost renewables capacity from 500MW to 3.7GW (2.5GW solar, 1.2GW wind) by 2028 (MEES, 22 March). 1GW is due online in 2025 with the Manah I and II solar plants (MEES, 12 January). (CONTINUED - 101 WORDS)
