*Asian LNG imports posted another strong month for May. Figures from data intelligence firm Kpler indicate total imports of 18.9mn tons from the region’s top five buyers, the top four of which – China, Japan, South Korea and India – are also the top four globally.

*The May total was up 6% year-on-year and only fractionally below the May record set in 2021 (see chart 1). This follows a record April (MEES, 17 May) to leave total 5M 2024 volumes up 7% year-on-year at 100.0mn tons.
