Abu Dhabi state offtaker Ewec announced on 24 July that it has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the planned 2.5GW Taweelah-C Independent Power Producer (IPP) project. The gas-fired power plant is to be located around 50km northeast of Abu Dhabi city and is expected to begin operations in 3Q 2028.
The deadline for responding to the RFP is expected to be 4Q 2024, says Ewec, with the successful developer to own up to 40% of the entity. The remaining 60% will likely be held by state firms Taqa and Mubadala in line with other power plants in Abu Dhabi. (CONTINUED - 730 WORDS)
