ExxonMobil on 2 July signed up to undertake provisional studies of two Moroccan offshore blocks, inking ‘reconnaissance contracts’, which come without drilling commitments, for the Safi-Essaouira Offshore and Agadir-Ifni Offshore blocks off Morocco’s Atlantic coast.
Though the newly-created blocks do not appear on the latest map of state firm ONHYM, the four cities in their names imply a substantial swathe of acreage, from around 200km north to 150km south of Agadir on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. (CONTINUED - 222 WORDS)
