Jordan’s state run Aqaba Development Corporation on 20 August awarded a consortium of Singapore’s AG&P, its South Korean subsidiary Gas Entec and Jordan’s Issa Haddadin a contract to build a permanent 720mn cfd / 5mn t/y-capacity LNG regasification terminal at Aqaba on Jordan’s Red Sea coast.
The $125mn facility will be located at the existing Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah natural gas terminal. The terminal was inaugurated in 2015 and named after Kuwait’s then-emir, after being financed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED). The Kuwaiti fund is also financing part of the latest cost through a “soft loan.” (CONTINUED - 345 WORDS)
