Oman state offtaker Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (Nama PWP) has shortlisted 12 developers for five wind projects with an overall capacity of up to 1GW (see table). In total, it received 16 statements of qualification for its requests for proposal (RFP) released six months ago (MEES, 22 March).
Of the shortlisted firms, France’s EdF Renewables and Singapore’s Sembcorp are both partners in consortia constructing Oman’s 500MW Manah I and 500MW Manah II solar plants (MEES, 12 January), while Saudi Arabia’s Acwa Power is lead developer in the consortium that developed Oman’s only operating solar project, the 500MW Ibri II plant (MEES, 22 March 2019).
