Egypt is looking to make a dent in its plans to generate 42% of power from renewables by 2030, with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) on 12 September signing 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 2GW of solar PV capacity split between two 1GW projects.
Egypt’s first battery energy storage (BESS) capacity of 1.1GWh is to be integrated with these two projects as well as a third under-construction solar project. (CONTINUED - 975 WORDS)
