Oman’s upstream has moved in two different directions over the two past years. For the country’s crude production, output was capped by Opec+ cuts at around 760,000 b/d through 2024 (MEES, 24 January). In contrast, gas capacity surged to new records for 2024 and would have risen more but for a lack of outlets.
Record 2024 output of 54.51bcm (5.46bn cfd) was up 5% or 240mn cfd year-on-year (see chart 1). Of this 42.91bcm (79%) was non-associated gas, up roughly 2bcm from 2023. (CONTINUED - 857 WORDS)
